Artist's Description

From black & white photograph taken by Paul Jeffries of CEPAD during the war in Nicaragua in 1984, a grandmother and granddaughter look at the camera with such different, contrasting expressions. My husband, Jim, son Matt and I lived in a rural area of Chinandega for two years founding Habitat for Humanity, and experienced meaningful worship with Pentecostals whose women wore white coverings over their heads. I wrote the following poem..............................................................................................LIFT UP YOUR NAME

I love You, Lord and Praise You,
and hold Your Name in my heart.
and lift up Your Name above
every other name:
King of Kings
Lord of Lords
You penetrate the oppressive smog
of this puny planet.
All our earthly greatness
You see through
and shine!
September 2001
��God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus...
