Artist's Description

While painting this I was reading The Shack by Wm. Paul Young, and the scene seemed to express many of the emotions of the book. The cheery, welcoming mother is selling out the window the large carrots and beets that grow in the fertile land of Santa Lastenias, Nicaragua. As is common, she also sells snack foods. Bright flowers carefully tended adorn the rustic board cabin. Her daughter is painfully shy, standing still by the open doorway, almost fading into the wall from poor self-image, yet curious. I wrote the following poem......................................................................................SCARLET AS SNOW

Jesus Speaks to my heart:

I hear your cries � each one
I answer and Kingdom comes.
I breathe upon you � body, spirit, soul
And resurrect the hope that makes you whole.

Pass through fire,
through muck and mire.
Through the darkness of despair,
I hold your hand, My Light share.
