The hidden stone house with open window looks out on a field of glowing sunflowers in full bloom and softer, fragrant lavender. The lavender color is echoed in the sunlit forest behind the house, and adds to the mystery and mistiness of the blues and greens. I wrote the following poem:

Jesus says to my heart:
Come into my garden of quiet
where birds sing in delight.
Brooks ripple in crystalline beds,
and the garden, ever-green,
golden sunflowers, lavenders blue, spring-fed
with rioting colors ignite.
Jesus says to my heart:
In my garden I make all things beautiful,
restore the broken, make them whole and new.
I make the family a place of joy and peace,
where you are understood and understanding,
loved and loving: it begins in my garden,
it begins in you.
