Artist's Description
In the countryside of Nicaragua, many people do not have running water, so bathe in the streams. This woman is bathing, with shorts on, as is the culturally correct way, in the water, by the dip and pour method. One can almost feel the cool water pouring in sparkling drops over the warm body of the girl. Sunlight causes shining bright areas contrasting with lavender and turquoise shadows as the water bubbles around the rocks. Painting done from photograph taken in Rivas, featured in the book 'The Nicaraguans', editor: Cesar Correa Oquel, published in Nicaragua 2006, p.21.
