Artist's Description
My husband, (at left out of picture) Jim is talking with his friend, Santo, just a month before he died. Homeless, mind wandering so he could no longer function as a gardener for the nuns, he was willing to have his photograph taken, but, with dignity, insisted on taking off his hat. Like many of his fellow wanderers, he collected bags of trash that he hung on the wrought iron window protectors. Matagalpa, Nicaragua, Central America.
